Yep, you heard me right, David Yates (of Harry Potter film fame) announces in the linked Variety article that he is looking for writers to start work on what would be an attempt at the start of a Doctor Who film series. That’s big and controvercial news in itself but the big shocker is when you come to this:
“Russell T. Davies and then Steven Moffat have done their own transformations, which were fantastic, but we have to put that aside and start from scratch”
And:
“It needs quite a radical transformation to take it into the bigger arena.”
Get ready to have your head in your hands as the franchise you know and love gets a hollywood treatment.
Uurghh.
